here’s a little about us
Though we’ve changed a lot over the years—from our founder Marianne Rhodes cooking dinners at the Nichols Tavern Dinner Theatre, to the wedding receptions and market we have today—our goal has always remained the same—prepare and serve beautiful, delicious food for our community.
Taking over the business from Marianne in 2019, Beth Holt gave the business new life and a renewed passion for serving the community. Expanding the offerings and repositioning services to meet growing demand, Beth has elevated the Peakland Market & Catering brand. A woman-owned and woman-run business from the start, we care deeply about building up Lynchburg and serving the best possible food available. To that end, we’ve expanded our team, allowing us to constantly create new recipes and take on custom requests.
Our passion for food is rooted in one thing, creating memories. As we think back, all our best memories are surrounded by food and loved ones. Let us help you make those memories and leave the food to us because, as we always say, every occasion needs food.

Our takeout market is always stocked with your favorite staples. Our signature chicken salad and ham biscuits are made fresh daily. We also have several kinds of pimento cheese, egg and tuna salad, a wide selection of casseroles and sides, and fresh baked goods every day!
We are proud to carry several local brands as well. We have a full selection of Nightingale Ice Cream Sandwiches and a growing selection of Scratch Pasta and Deep Roots Milling Co. items. Stay tuned as we add more local items to the shop!
